Does anyone have any advise about boosting metabolism?
I was eating 1200 calories a day for a while plus 30-60 minutes of cardio. I've recently increased my intake to 1500-1800 calories per day after talking to a nutritionist. I am concerned that I'm not losing weight even though I'm still eating below my weight maintenance of 2100 calories/day.
How long does it take to mess up your metabolism? How can I increase my metabolism so I can lose a little more weight (10 lbs)?

Hi guys and gals! So this is my first time at joining an internet community to help me lose weight. I've been up and down in my weight but I recently noticed that I gained A LOT of weight (45lbs overweight!). I'm hoping to lose it all this year! Together I know we can!

Hello everyone! I'm in it for the long haul. I've always been bigger but gain more after working a couple years in a more sedentary job. I was working on loosing, until I tore my knee open from a cycling crash. Mostly healed and more motivated than ever.
I'm 28, 5'10", starting weight of 365 (1/16/12), as of today I'm 350.5 and going strong.

Hi everyone! I'm so looking forward to making friends, and keeping motivated while losing weight!
I'm 25 and finishing my last semester of college. I weigh 158lbs (lost ten pounds the summer 0f 2011) and I can't wait to get to my dream weight (and maintain it) of 130lbs!
One of my goals I want to acheive is to be able to run again. I used to run in high school and it helped me as a singer. My breath support is lousy now and I want more than anything to get that runner's breath back up!
I just started mynetdiary yesterday (02/18/2012) and I'm so EXCITED!
I look forward to YOUR support :-)

Hi everyone,
Today is day 1 for me. I've got some health issues and I need to change the way I live my life. Why not start with healthy eating and exercise right? On top of all of that I'm getting married in June and I would absolutely love to feel comfortable in my own skin (not to mention my dress). Even if I just drop 20 lbs on my way to my goal...every girl wants to feel beautiful and sexy on their wedding day right? Well, I need some support to help me stay on track because I suck at motivating myself. Just being honest....

Hi Dixie - I'm getting married in June as well! June 9th. Looking good on my wedding day an honeymoon has been a big motivating factor in improving my diet and finally exercising.
I'm 5'9" 149lb and wanting to get to 130/135 by June. Nothing too crazy, but I want to tone up and have more strength. And get my arms looking good!
If you want a wedding weight-loss buddy let me know!

I would absolutely love a wedding weight loss buddy! I'm getting married June 15th...the weekend after you. That's so exciting! I have a ways to go, but my short term goal is to lose another 25 lbs before the wedding. I'm a martial artist and therefore have always been short and thick. I'm hoping to tone my arms and back the most, and generally get into shape. I'm trying to get the motivation to exercise regularly. Right now it's hit or miss due, in part, to my job. I work at a reception desk at a hotel and am not allowed to sit...ever. By the time I get home my feet ache so bad, all I want to do is sit and put them up. I do, however, exercise on my days off, but it should be the other way around. Lol!

What kind of martial arts do you practice? I'm actually starting ninjutsu on the 7th of March!
My job is the opposite - I sit ALL day. 9-5, M-F. It's pretty miserable and I have to force myself to get up and just MOVE a few times a day. I am doing a boot camp program at my local YMCA. It's three mornings a week and pretty intense. I started in January and I honestly feel like the only place I've lost weight is in my chest, haha. I hope I'm wrong!
I'm vegetarian, mostly vegan, and I was so shocked when I started counting calories. Are you using the iPhone app? I think I was eating like 3000 calories a day before MyNetDiary. It's made me a lot more aware of my diet. I treated myself to some macadamia nuts the other day (they are my favorite but so expensive) and I was shocked to learn that there are 265 calories on 1/4 cup! Insane.
Anyway - 25lbs by June. That's an intense goal but doable. What's your daily calorie goal? Are you doing lots of cardio? Hope these last few days have been good to you!

Hey all! Created this thread a few months back and fell into my slump again. Well, I'm back!
I've been trying to run 3 times a week and walk a few miles the rest of the week. The running hasnt been too pretty, but I do notice that each day I can go a little further. I feel like an old lady in the morning though! What is everyone else doing to keep moving? That seems to be the hardest part for me. I can handle eating healthy, but I have no problem admitting that when I come home from work each day, I literally have to fight myself to exercise! I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Does anyone have any healthy lunch ideas? I'm getting tired of my normal menu and want to switch it up!
Also, something I highly suggest is to create a menu for home. My boyfriend is the pickiest eater and I dont feel like being a chef each night so I made him sit down with me and we created a menu that we could both agree on. The side dishes may change depending on what I have in stock, but the main meal is always the same. It really takes the stress of trying to think of what to cook each night. We are doing baked chicken Monday, grilled chicken Tuesday, red meat Wednesday, grilled chicken Thursday, fish Friday, Saturday and Sunday are up in the air. This sounds kind of silly and simply, but it has helped me a lot!
Keep up the great work everyone and hang in there. If you live anywhere near me, we still have a few months before the dreaded bathing suit will be making an appearance!
Update with you weigh ins! I do it every Saturday morning.
Previous weight: 172.8 lbs
Current weight: 162.2! :). (great week!)
Looking forward to hearing from you all! Oh, and if you have facebook request me and I'll set up a group on there as well. It's a little bit easier for me that way I check the page more often! Search for me Kristin Strait or Straitkristin@yahoo.com
Good luck!
