What are your biggest challenges from being 50+ ? Topic

Hi, I am new at this program....I have dieted the last 4 years and I have not lost any weight..I quit smoking and my mom passed away and I put on over 30lbs. I need help and support

In the last 10 years I've gained 50 lbs. Yikes! I figured it was way past time to do something about it and this program seemed to suit me. We'll see how it goes.

Hi. I'm new as well. I've gained 50 lbs. in the last 10 years. In the past year I almost lost my daughter to Lupus, my mother passed away while my daughter was in the ICU, my mother-in-law passed away, I had pneumonia, and had my gall bladder removed. I have rheumatoid arthritis which makes it hard for me to exercise, but I'm starting water exercises tomorrow. I'm sick of being fat, so I'm really going to give this a go.

Hi Donna. I also have RA & FM. It is hard to move. I'm starting water exercising tomorrow & I hope it's helpful. I take my meds pretty faithfully and couldn't function without them.

My biggest challenge is that my mind doesn't seem to realize that my body is 52 years old. This results in some pretty sore muscles at times!

Brewebb, what are you doing for exercise?

here's my 2 cents . . . im fat, epileptic diabetic and now 60 . . . poor me . . when did this happen?

GrizzledAtoms.......I agree, my brain doesn't realize the body may have issues with some of the activities I would like it to do. Just when you realize what it is you really want to do, suddenly your body steps in and says "I don't think so!". LOL!

I am with you on that! I just don't feel as old as my birth certificate says I am! I will be 52 this year.

I, for 50 years, never took very good care of my body. I was always overweight and sedentary. I think I am paying the price for those choices now. My knees and spine are paying me back for the years of abuse. I didn't start diet and exercise until after I turned 50. On the other side of the coin, I really love where I am at in this stage of life. I think being older makes me realize not to sweat the small stuff! I like how I look at life in general. Now, if I could just get my body to be a little more forgiving... LOL!
