Congratulations! That is a lot of hard work 50 lbs! Glad to hear she got released..now to keep her healthy and away from the virus. I pray everyday for all of us and I trust in God's plan and He is walking with all of us but I am scared and heartache for so many people! This has to be hard on you and your wife being apart for a short term but safely is first. Thank you for sharing you know when you hear of another weight struggler making their goals it makes you want to try that much harder because we see it is able to be done! Have great day!

Thanks for your kind words. Just tried to call my sister and got my nephew. Seems she started having dilutions and they had to call an ambulance and put her back in the hospital. I was not happy that they had sent her home so soon. Doctor said one explanation might be a urinary tract infection, but he was just guessing at this point. Probably won’t have an update till tomorrow.
Stay safe.

A year ago my 83 year old aunt had a UTI and yes she scared me. She called and said someone was partying in her home with little babies. A police found her in her car out in a field...she said she was running from them partying. It is like them having poison in their body and makes weird stuff happen. Poor thing I hope they keep her and find out what it is. You take care and don't stress. I read if your body is under stress it effects your immune system. We all need to eat and be healthy to fight this virus. My daughter is about 1 quarter away from becoming a Nurse Practitioner or teach nursing in a University..she brought me some Vitamins for the immune system. You and your family will be in my prayers...remember to eat healthy with all the stress you are having!

They sent her home about 6 hours after she got there. Ughh! They say it was not a UTI, but did not give us any other explanation. Not happy with her care, but not sure what I can do from here.
Her doctor is going to do a video conference with her Monday, but I guess all I can till then is call her often and try to access if things are getting worse.

She also has a home health care nurse that comes every other day. Not sure about weekends?

I know I'm very close to all of my family so when it has to do with there health it is important to me and my love for them. Like you said be there for her...let her know you are just a phone call away. My parents had home health care....they were wonderful to them and my 2 sisters. Everyday my sisters and I took turns making sure one of us visited afternoon and evening....if the home health care noticed anything in between they had at our numbers and call one of us. One day they called and said Moms legs were alittle swollen. Two days before my husband passed away I started home health care here...I worked in a bank and he was needing more care so I started it up. They came on weekends for us. All of you are still in my prayers. Don't let life struggles get to your healthy you! Take care.

Thanks for your kind words. My sister seems to be doing better. She should be about done with this. It’s been at least 16 days. She is weak, but I think she will be ok.
Had two days where I was so hungry. Did not do too bad, but today was a good day. Hope it shows on the scale tomorrow.
I see you posted a weight loss. Good for you.

So did you lose? I think when we see the weight lost we get the motivation to keep on finding that healthy person in us. It has been fairly nice out I have been walking the dogs. I have a yorkie and a maltese. Than we do their favorite thing go on a golf cart ride and see my 2 sister...they live just a few blocks from me. I have been trying new recipes out from weight watchers striking a different taste buds up and I think it has made me more satisfied and eat less. My husband was a comfort food eater...he liked mac and cheese, chicken and noodles, and fried cube steak with gravy and mash potatoes so for me try these foods and find I really like them is gone to help with the diet. Do you cook any? I use to really love to cook when Mike was alive...most likely cause he enjoyed it so much...than I got tired of it but now finding new things to try I can't wait to try it. I use to help at Church dinners and that was comfort food again. I wish my grandson liked different things but with my daughter in college and her husband working it has been fast food gain their attention,.lol. It is so nice getting out again and see and do other things than to think food all the time. Now that I'm retired I have stopped and smelled the roses of life and I want to keep doing that. Glad to hear your sister is progressing...just keep letting her know she is loved and you will call everyday to see how she is....I can't imagine having someone not checking up on you. I'm quite shy person but you give me writing and I can talk you ear off...sorry. You and your wife have a great day and hope you have motivated weight lost!

I love to cook. My newest gadget is a sous vide water bath. I cook all kinds of meats, poultry, fish with this method. Check it out on YouTube. Have you ever had a 4 inch filet mignon at a restaurant and wonder how they cook it so it is perfectly pink all the way through with no raw meat in the center? Well sous vide is how they do it.
I use a lot of Whole Foods and stay away from most of the carbs. For example, instead of rice, I use quinoa. Instead of spaghetti, spaghetti squash. Instead of buttered pop corn, I air pop it and then have a low calorie topping I squirt on it to give it flavor (my latest is a mixture of sugar free vanilla creamer, stevia, salt, honey, baker’s chocolate powder, and peanut butter). I also just ordered a lb of cheddar cheese powder from amazon. Only 35 calories per tablespoon. I often have 10 cups of pop corn with toppings that only add up to 350 calories. I have a great recipe for a southwest salad over quinoa that I will find and post. By the way, I use a lot of red quinoa that is expensive, so I bought 10 lbs over the internet that was about 1/10 the price.
