Wow you cook real good food. I have never heard of sous vide...I must check it out. In my area quinoa is almost imposable to find. When I come across it I get...on WW I can eat it. Also brown rice and whole wheat pasta. I prefer spaghetti squash instead of pasta spaghetti...I think because I spice it up with lots of flavors for taste buds. I like popcorn but for a snack I like apples and peanut butter. I will have to try yours it sound real good..give it a sweet salty wonderful taste. 35 calorie power cheese sounds good..now my dogs would be begging for the popcorn with cheese on it! Defiantly the salad that is my type of eating...looks wonderful. I will pass it to my niece she loves dishes like that. Good thing I just ate a satisfying dinner or I might had to cheat and try some of your salad. I had a Mexican salad with chicken, black bean, Mexican corn, salsa and few other veggie in it....it is my go getter when I'm hungry and want a happy belly, lol. Got some exercise today, went to the cemetery and walked and walked with my puppies. I go cemetery because about 10 months ago a pit bull jumped my fence and attach my poodle and killed her...it was awlful...I can't forget it. I don't my newest puppy 4 months old and my yorkie 12 years old attached. The same day the bull took my neighbors dog...so needless to say I don't like pit bulls. So after all the walking and wonderful healthy dinner I'm sitting here feeling healthy, happy at heart and doing my body temple good I believe in the eyes of the Lord. Even though your she shed is likely nice I bet you are ready to get back in or normal life. Just be safe for you and your family!! I hope you lost but mostly hope you are eating healthy and staying healthy Thank you for sharing. We all want a healthy road to enjoy life to its fullest and know that there is another soul out there with same goals and feeling the same struggle helps.....have a great evening.

OK I watched a video on your cooking toy. To start with the positive side the end results look wonderful...I could imagine the taste just looking at it mmmm. And eating your food is suppose to be enjoyable, relaxed, visible appealing slow comfortable atmosphere. But now the is it worth it negative side. I see you put it in and leave it for a long while than if it needs seared. A lot of time for preparing for dinner and clean up lol. I think I would love the meals cooked with it but for a single person that like to get the meal cooked and cleaned up fast maybe not for me. But my must tell you I'm not the biggest meat eater. Once in awhile I crave a steak but most time chicken and fish are my number ones to go to. I usually cook my meat with a veggie recipe I don't just sit down and have a piece of meat on my plate. It looks great but when I cook I want to get it done, enjoy than cleaned up out of the way....I guess also I never plan for my meals I open fridge and say what is it gone to be ...grab it and cook, eat and finish the meal up. My husband would have love it ...he use to spend hours preparing rib, steaks, and chicken and I cooked the sides for dinner friends. I know you will enjoy it but I will stick to my grill. Let me know how you like it and how it all turns out...it will be mouth watering!

Hope they put that pit bull down.
I don’t just do one meal when I sous vide. I cut the meat, poultry, or fish into one meal size pieces, put dry rubs and/or fresh herbs in the vacuum pack with them, and usually can do about 8 meals for my wife and I at once. Then I either refrigerate or freeze the extra . So I always have a variety of prepared proteins in the Fridge to chose from for every meal. Pull one out, sear it in a skillet or grill and in 7 minutes I have it done.
Babyback ribs are amazing that way, but take a long time (36 hours). I do a whole rack in one bath . They are cut up in packages of 6 ribs that we then split for a meal. Dry rub in the packages and them finish them on the grill with some barbecue sauce. They only thing you don’t eat is the bone. Never had even as good at a restaurant.

Portion control on the sous vide is important. I try to package so when Imsplit the package between us, we have 3-4 oz of meat. So that is usually around 200 calories for my protein and add to that another 250 or so with a salad or veggies and finish with half an apple. 500 calorie meal keeps me at 1500 a day.

You and your wife are great planners. I have friends that on Sunday do nothing but get all the meat ready for the week and put in bags to pull and cook. I must say if you do like you said and plan it sounds like a plus to a kitchen. 3 or 4oz meat is not very much...maybe that is some of my problem not losing to fast...I eat around 5 or 6 ozs meat, one side (whether it be a bake potato, green beans, broccoli..) and 1 fruit. But most of my meals are bed of lettuce with goodies on it Mexican, fruit and nuts, or veggie all around. My husband always cooked good ribs ...he would let it sit overnight in a sauce he made usually had a can of beer in it....I don't even come close to any alcohol but I did eat those...they were wonderful. I ask my daughter if she heard of a sous vide and she said yes they are on all cook shows and she has been to some doctors houses who had one. For the field she is going in I'm amazed she don't cook at all....freezer section of a market is for her. Keep up your good eating habits and it won't be long you will be posting a picture I won't recognize of you.

I moved back into the house today. I will look for the salad recipe I talked about. I use it often for carry in dinners. It always gets raves and it is very pretty. I serve it on a big platter and it is very colorful. My recipe feeds about 15, so you can package up quite a few servings.

Glad you are getting to move back in! I don't know how long you two have been together but I know when my husband past it was hard for me to learn to sleep by myself so maybe you will get a good night sleep. I really blow my diet last night....for some reason my grandson's ice cream in the back freezer kept calling my name. I didn't even try to talk myself out of it by going to do something...I ate won't even say more than 1...2...3 servings. Do I feel better today NO I'm so mad and depressed at my self. On the other hand I I did get up an have ate extremely healthy today. I got on the scales I showed 3 pound more than yesterday....so hopefully tomorrow is my weigh in since I watched it will be back maybe ozs lower...I don't like no weight loss at all. I was not keep much food like that for them in house but they have been asking for ice cream and I thought I could handle it nope food alcoholic. Next time I got to remember my state of mind after I ate it.

Well get to sleep in my bed, but my wife is going to sleep in the guest room another week just to be sure.
Sorry you had a slip up. Nothing to do but rededicate to your goal and go forward. When I get nervous and start thinking about eating things I shouldn’t, I try to do something physical like go for a walk or ride my bike.
The dieticians don’t recommend this, but I also try to only eat when I am hungry. Often I only eat two meals a day, that way if I get hungry at 8:30, I can afford to make a big bowl of popcorn and still be under 1500 calories.

Congrats on the the weight loss. Great to get a surprise when you step on the scales. I reached my original goal this week almost six weeks early. Now I want to lose another 25 by Nov 6th.
Been busy doing yard work, which I like to do and book work trying to get my sisters finances in order(hate that job), but it has to get done. She is recovering from coved-19 and the loss of her husband.
Weather has been really nice, but tomorrow will drop into the 50s for a day. Hoping the scales rewards me tomorrow. It has been several days since my last weight loss day..
