Ive been working out everyday and eating less calories but I haven't lost any weight. How long does it take. I'm just trying to lose this extra weight and stay healthy. Any suggestion?

Hi,
I suppose it depends on how many calories your eating and how intense your workout is. I try and stay under 900 cals a day (Which was hard at the start but im used to it now) and im doin the 30 day shred workout everyday (which is super hardcore) and iv lost 2lbs in about 3 days.
Everybodys different and has different metabolism speeds so just keep working at it, keep altering your diet and workout plan until you see changes.
Good Luck!

Wish serena. Sounds like an unhealthy crash diet to me.

Serena 900 calories is 300 calories below the absolute minimum for a woman of any height! I would think about speaking to a dietician about that - im not sure if that will be sustainable or healthy.
To the original post, do you have a pair of kitchen scales? It's easy to miscalculate how much your eating, particularly because todays portion sizes are so huge.
I would say if you are honest with recording your calories and your trying new exercises and still not losing it may be time for a little health check up, maybe it's something else stopping you from losing.
Keep trying, it's so worth it!

If you see no changes in two weeks, it's probably portion sizes. Buy some measuring bowls (i got mine at TJ Maxx) for 2 cups down to 1/4 c and keep them on your counter. Also, avoid eating out for one week- you can do it! That will help you reset your portion size to your eyes and stomach. And measure everything! Oil, dressing, cheese, nuts, they are sneaky.
Add some full body moves, like squats with weight, spiderman/mountain climbers floor moves, and stairs and your body will change!

When I started doing light weight training and not just cardio a year ago I was originally frustrated that the scale wasn't moving at first also. I am over 100lbs overweight and have lost big chunks of weight before and usually can lose 20 lbs in the first month. When I started weight training I lost less than 5 lbs the first month and was seriously getting pissed off.
Luckily I was working with a trainer who took my measurements before we started the program, and after two months I had only lost 15lbs but I lost ten inches off my legs and two inches off my arms.
If the scale isn't moving but your clothes fit better, chances are you are on the right track. If you really want the number to move I found cutting out ALL carbs within two hours of bed really started to help lose weight while still gaining muscle from weight training.
Hope this helps!

One reason behind slower weight loss when weight training is muscle is heavier than fat but the good news is muscle is considered to be active tissue which means that your BMR increases and you burn more calories than you would normally when resting! Therefore less of your weight will be fat, and lets face it, it's better to be lean than fat regardless of what the scales say and the more muscle you have, the easier it will be to lose fat and maintain the loss. If only I hadn't let myself go lol :-)
