So, I’ve only been at this since 10/13. I know I have had poor eating habits for years, daily soda drinker & I love candy. That being said… I planned on cutting back to 1,200 calories daily & riding an exercise bike for 30+ minutes per day. I do allow for the extra calories- so if i burn 250 on the bike, then i up that day’s calories to 1450.
I feel like I’m hungry all the time, even when I am full from just having eaten. I’m drinking more water, I’ve upped my protein, eaten oatmeal or popcorn- doesn’t seem to affect my hunger. Honestly, i think before, a lot of my calories came from when i was eating while watching tv, etc (the whole, i wasn’t hungry i was bored, type thing.)
Any suggestions on what to try to curb my appetite? I’m not trying to be unhealthy or starve myself (and i’ve only lost 6 lbs since I started) I just feel like I’m staying hungry when i shouldn’t be. Which, then i wi f up eating more & although I’m still at a deficit- it winds up being a smaller deficit than what i’m trying for.

Do you eat about 5-6 times a day? If you’re eating 3-4 times a day, you go longer periods of time without food, so maybe that’s why you still feel hungry? It seems you’re doing everything right- so if you aren’t already eating 5-6 times a day, try it. :) It might help control your hunger, and the boredom eating too. Best of luck!

What are you eating? Are you eating a few high caloric items or a lot of lower calorie foods?

Do u like cottage cheese? Cottage cheese and pear half will fill me up longer. Seems to work for me when I’m feeling hungry

I’ve been mainly doing oatmeal for breakfast with coffee (right at 200 calories for breakfast.) For lunch, some sort of frozen low calorie meal (usually right at 200 calories or less) and then i’ll do a tuna packet or some popcorn for snack & then another frozen meal for dinner or a hearty soup or turkey sandwich for dinner. I always do 30 mins on the bike, and sometimes 45 or 60. I’m trying for low calorie but guessing I should be adding more vegetables. I haven’t really gone low carb either, but i’ve cut back compared to what i was. I’m guessing between soft drinks, junk food & not watching portions, I was probably at 3,000 calories daily at least.
Not a fan of cottage cheese (it’s a texture thing) … I like pears though, i’ll be sure to add those to the mix. I’ve been doing 3 “meals” with one or two small snacks. I also try not to eat at all after 7 at night. (I’m usually up from 6am-10pm). I can try to spread the calories out more evenly into 5 different meals,

I’m on high protein. I have whole wheat peanut butter and bananas for breakfast. About 300-400 calories. Lunch lettuce wrapped turkey. Dinner varies today was turkey and veggies. I may throw in a protein shake if in rush

Ohhhh, frozen meals might actually be causing the issue! Depending on what the contents are, your body might not be getting enough nutrients. Here’s a link on a nutritionist’s pros/cons of frozen meals:

Hope this helps! :)
