Low Calorie Deserts? Topic

Does anyone have any low calorie deserts? I’m a person who can eat a chocolate cake in one sitting and my cravings have been insane (super dark chocolate doesn’t help)! Does anyone have any low calorie chocolate desert recipes or dupes for the oat fudge bar (from Starbucks)

Greetings U1188719338- Great question! I know others are curious to hear what works when a dessert craving hits.

Great idea to try dark chocolate- sometimes that will do the trick!

I find a lot of inspiration from www.eatingwell.com

Fresh or frozen berries are nice. Strawberries are only 50 calories per cup and 1 tsp balsamic vinegar is usually 5 calories:) If the strawberries are not as sweet, you can sprinkle just 1 tsp of raw sugar at 15 calories on top.

-Finally, I find that sometimes in the evening having a cup of hot tea helps to diminish the sugar cravings as well.

What works for others?
Best, Joanna

Lately I have been drinking peppermint tea with a piece of lemon and Orange

1/2 banana, 1 tbsp pb powder, 2 tbsp sf cool whip and .2 oz chocolate chips is 127 calories and tasty!!!

Also... I chew gum to let it pass.

These protein bars/bites are killer too. Soooo so good and tastes nothing like a protein bar that’s chalky. Low calorie too. https://builtbar.com?baapp=BETTERBALANCE

I’m going to have to give those a shot. I don’t do artificial sweeteners so it’s nice to see that those bars done have any!

Years ago I started making mini cheesecakes with agave syrup. People gobble them up and no one thinks they are diet. If you don’t add eggs they can be instant gratification if you add eggs you need to bake them.

Hi Folks, this is Kathy - I'm covering for Joanna. I have a sweet tooth too and always need ideas for lower caloric desserts. By the way, we do have quite a few lower calorie desserts in Premium recipes - so check them out.

For stuff I don't have to make, my favorite go-to sweet is a low sugar/low fat vanilla ice cream. I weigh out 65 grams (about ½ cup) and pair it with 1/2 cup of fresh berries (whatever is on sale). I might top it with 1 tbsp of sugar-free maple syrup along with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and nutmeg. This results in what feels like a decadent dessert for just under 150 Calories/serving.

Best,
Kathy

I’ve been loving the mini connoisseur ice creams. They are around 190 calories and are super satisfying. A bit of crunch from the chocolate and the ice cream is amazing.

The other winner is Chobani Fit X Flip yogurts. They are 130 calories and really yummy and filling (and easy to take to work to fight off the 3pm snackies)
