Starting here too, I have been able to lose a bit of weight in the past, and my Dr says she can reduce my diabetic medication if I get down to 100Kg, so I need to lose about 20Kg, which seems a hell of an ask! BUT I know it can be done, so started doing more exercises and tracking what I eat, I’ll see if I can stick to the plan. It really is just a matter of my own willpower and determination to get this done.

Hi PandaG- Welcome to MyNetDiary!
It sounds like you are very motivated to improve your health and blood sugars through weight loss. Changing your diet (eating more whole foods and less simple sugars and more fiber) + daily movement will certainly improve your blood sugars. Here are a few articles from our blog and library that may help answer some questions and help utilize features of the app. Please let us know if any nutrition or diabetes questions arise! I lost 13 lbs to start and now I yo-yo a lb or 2. I am on oxygen so I am limited in what exercise I do. I go to pulumary rehab 3 x a week. More exercise or less calories? Do not laugh but i am 80 years old but I still care what I look like.

Greetings U8351888- It sounds like you are doing great! Strong work on your 13# weight loss. You are wise to not lose too much weight too quickly. Good for you for committing to cardiac rehab. That is going to help you a lot! They can advise/supervise light strength training which will help to preserve muscle mass as you lose weight. To answer your question, a mild caloric restriction is suggested in your situation over increased exercise. Keep up the hard work!!
