Woo Hoo! — I am no longer in the obese category on the BMI chart !!! Topic

On March 7th of this year, I weighed in at 255 pounds. For a 59 year old man at 5’ 7” tall, that was not a healthy weight.

So, I decided to do something about it.

I’ve tried a lot of different methods over the years, and knew I did not want to go the low carb route (too restrictive), and that I wanted to use a method based on science.

I decided the method I wanted to use lose weight was just to eat fewer calories every day than my body requires on a very consistent basis.

To do that, you have to know your numbers first. How many calories do I consume each day? How many calories does my body need a day to sustain itself? How many less calories are required to lose weight?

I decided to find an online food tracker to help me with all that, and I really found a good one in MyNetDiary.com — It is an AWESOME food tracking system app! I could not be happier with it.

It makes it easy to track calories & nutrients, and it’s barcode scannable food database is the best I’ve ever seen. You can build recipes, and repeat meal tracking could not be easier. The daily & weekly feedback the app provides is informative.

The proof is in the pudding…

On March 7th 2021, I was at 255 pounds. I weigh in every Saturday, and yesterday my weight was 187.6 — I logged it in, and my app told me: You lost 67.4 lb in 9 months. Your BMI is 29.4

I was thrilled when I saw my BMI, because that means for the first time in years, I’ve moved from the obese category into the overweight category! It was a major feel good moment for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Now what?

At my height, just to get to the very top of the normal category on the BMI chart, I need to be below 160 pounds.

I have already set my next goal to be at 160 pounds by next summer.

Everything I do in life is easier without that additional 67.4 pounds weighing me down, and it really feels good…

So, off I go! 🙂

Congratulations!!! What a huge accomplishment!! (:

Congratulations, Charles!!! I am happy for you AND personally encouraged by your success:)

You made me think, so I went and checked and mine is charted as 33.8 as of today’s weigh in. There are so many tools on this app, it will take me a while to learn them.
