Intermittent Fasting Topic

Hey there! Is anyone here practicing intermittent fasting?

I’m just getting started and following a 16:8 schedule. I have always had better success with high protein diets so I’m focusing on that type of diet when I do eat.

I have 61lbs to lose. Already lost 10lbs before starting intermittent fasting.

Hi Katie-Nice job on your 10# weight loss. Here is an article Kathy wrote about intermittent fasting https://www.mynetdiary.com/intermittent-fasting-for-weight-loss-alternate-day-fasting-and-time-restricted-feeding.html
Let us know how it goes for you and what you think of it. Happy New Year! Joanna (Dietician)

I started intermittent fasting on January 1, 2018. I also do a 16:8 schedule. So trying to stay focus.

Let us know how it is working out for you, Danagee!

I am wondering if MyNetDiary has considered including times for food consumption. For those interested in intermittent fasting it would be great to see the feedback in a visual block schedule type format.

Hi ReKnee- Yes, I can see this being a benefit to folks who are following an intermittent fasting plan. Thank you for the feedback. I'd suggest you consider using the NOTES section. This can be found under the "Details" tab. NOTES can be viewed day by day, but they also print on Nutrition Summary reports. This can be helpful when you want to examine a particular day in more detail. The Summary report is short, so you can quickly find the date with your notes. Also you can enter the time along with a note as part of your text and you can enter numerous notes for one day. Hope this helps. Joanna (Dietician)

Isn’t there already a way to turn on times in the settings of the app? I recall there being an option for that.

If you go into your account settings under "Logging" you have the ability to set whether or not you want the times displayed. Then when you log your food you can click the time that's all the way to the right and change it to whatever time you think you're going to be eating.

Yes, time stamp is available in MyNetDiary (thanks Justjennie). Also, if you have Max membership & use either the Android or web app, then you can use Calorie Cycling to help organize your feed and fast days. But just be aware that MyNetDiary does not show analysis when intake is < 400 calories (this is a safety issue because of the large and varied population that uses MyNetDiary). iPhone app will have calories cycling sometime in the future (they are planning for it).

Hi Team. New member from Australia. Recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Planning on OMAD fasting. I am hoping MyNetDiary will help me track my progress, losing weight as well as reducing BG levels. Question, how do we I setup for this OMAD fast, with calories, times etc..? Looking forward to sharing my progress and getting some good feedback and ideas.
