Total carbs vs net carbs Topic

Hi I’m new to keto, I’m a bit confused in regards to which carb Figure I should be following on this app, it seems that I’m always past my total carb count but I’m still not reaching my net carb intake for the day?? Should I be disregarding the total carb count and concentrate on net carb only ???

That’s a good question, I just switched my diet I also don’t know the answer to this, i was wondering as well.

With Keto, you only look at net carbs - try to do 20g or less a day.

Hi there U1191375098- Most people focus primarily on net carbs when following Keto. Here are some resources that can help ensure you are meeting your nutrient targets and not exceeding carbs. In good health~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

The first time I did Keto I kept to 20 net carbs or less. (2017). It worked, I lost a ton, then I decided I didn’t want to do it anymore and gained most of it back. I’m back now but currently doing 30 net carbs or less. It’s working and my body is responding just as it did before. All of this to say use your body as a cue. If you are losing using net, then go for it, if not track total.

I totally agree with the Health Coach!!!
Also, restaurant food is the same, full of preservatives and chemicals that body doesn’t know what to do with.

So I’ve been on the low-carb diet for a month now I started January 3 I’m down 6 pounds but I’ve been on a plateau now for five days. I’ve been sticking to under 30 net carbs the whole time and for the most part under 900 calories. I’m not sure what to do to get out of this plateau. I’m also not drinking alcohol for the entire month a.k.a. dry January. I could use all the help I could get right now before I get too discouraged.
