Hello Albertocbs-
Welcome to MND! Glad you found us-
If you are a fan of chocolate, which I am guessing you are (I love chocolate myself) you may be able to consume a small amt every day without compromising your weight loss. One ounce of 85% dark chocolate (Lindt brand) contains 163 calories, 13g fat, 11g cho, 3.5 protein. Make sure to watch your portions and calories consumed throughout the day and save some calories to spend on this dark chocolate.
We suggest following the caloric deficit calculation provided by MND. It is scientifically based and has helped many many people successfully reach their weight loss goals.
Thus, if the app suggests you need to consume 1400 calories a day to lose a 1# of fat a week, then I would suggest you try to eat 1,237 calories from real food/d such as lean meats, veggies, whole grains, low fat dairy and save 163 calories to spend on the chocolate for the day. If you go over your calories for the day, skip the chocolate and indulge in a small amt the next day. Here's a great article Kathy our lead Dietitian put together to shed light on weight loss. Let us know if other questions come up! Best of luck in your journey. Joanna (Dietician)

I love chocolate. I found that a square of Ghirardelli’s Chocolate Intense Dark 72% Cacao “twilight delight” works best for me. 60 cal, 5 fat, 5carb, 1fiber, 3sugar ,1 protein

Thanks Msmindy for sharing! It is always nice to know what chocolates are out there and which are favorites! Have you seen Donna's article on chocolate? https://www.mynetdiary.com/does-anyone-need-an-excuse-to-eat-chocolate.html

There is also a chocolate from Lilly’s. It is sweetened with stevia and has 1/2 the calories. Just FYI :) I bought the chocolate chips and cook with these. They are pretty pricey but if you just take a nibble here and there it may be worth it
