Been using mynetdiary for a couple of weeks now and I have been trying to lose weight for awhile. I am trying to shoot for 1500 calories but I struggle to reach even that many calories without going over on salt. I want to make sure an still get lots of protein to build muscle....still struggling.

Check out the following regarding your sodium intake.
http://www.mynetdiary.com/customizing-nutrient-goals.html
Processed/canned foods contain A LOT of sodium. If you want to avoid sodium, you may need to avoid processed/canned foods.
The amount of salt recommended by MND is very low. I would recommend checking with your physician and/or nutritionist to determine your sodium intake based upon your individual circumstances. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or other issue you may need to restrict your sodium significantly. If not, you may not need to signifcantly restrict your sodium intake.
There are also some good articles on getting enough protien. Personally, I grill, weigh, ziplock bag, and refrigerate boneless skinless chicken breasts for me to keep on hand throughout the day to nibble on between meals. It has a good amount of protien and helps me curb my desire to eat unhealthy foods.
Good luck!
