Hangin' in there Topic

Hi There

I am still finding it harder to maintain than to loose, the middle way is so difficult. However I still come to the community forum on this site for insperation.

Thanks MND

Hi Bronja, funny that I JUST posted about how hard maintenance can be in "Ask a Dietitian Current" thread! I agree and many others do too. It is a lifelong commitment to engaging in behaviors that were successful for weight loss. Decades is a long time to do anything!

I find it helpful to consider it a long journey. Some days or weeks are going to be rough, but as long as I come around and get back on the horse (tracking daily, exercise daily, plan/buy healthy food vs. relying on restaurants/take out), I can pretty much correct the forays into weight gain.

But that is the trick - the willingness to be mindful and get back on track when you start to drift. Hard to do, but effective.

Thank goodness for MyNetDiary - it really helps me too!

Best,
Kathy

3 years at maint. and as hard as it was in the beginning. We learn new ways but unfortunately can revert back to old. Struggle to say the least. I am truly struggling right now but know what I have to do. Have the tools now need to use them. 80-90 % gain back so that is frightening.

Hang in all.I am-Fran

Hi there Fran

Hang on in there, you know what to do and you can do it, you are so inspirational to others. I love reading you posts they are so realistic and helpful.

Take care

Fran, you inspire me too!!!! Kathy

Still struggling but getting my grip back I hope at least I am wearing y size 4 jeans today! It is so unbelievable to say that and nothing I take for granted. Still have some work to do to get back to where I was but I believe doable. So much for what stress can do. I am flying out to Sandiego for a job interview Tuesday for a job in Arizona, what changes!
The battle never ends.Hang in everyone-Fran

Good to hear it, Fran! Go girl!!!

Good Luck with the job interview too.

San Diego was beautiful albeit a whirl wind. Left MA 7:20 AM Tuesday returned 1 AM this AM. Interview went well. Only 3 more pounds and I am back in the green zone. Will not believe it until I see it. Kathy flew over CO. Waved to you!-Fran

Hee hee - glad it went well. 3 lbs. Imagine how that compares to the 100+ lbs from what year?
