Hi am new! Topic


I'm a 66 yr old female newby to the community but have been using My Net Diary for almost a year. I really enjoy the app on my iphone. If anything, this program has made me much more aware of what I'm doing to my body. I would say my main goal is to feel good and have better health. I believe that's happened over this past year. My number 2 goal would be to lose weight. That's been more difficult. I'm happy to be part of this group!


I just found this app the other day and joined today. I am also 66 and need to lose about 30 pounds. I am trying the low carb diet and then will move into another program. At our age is the Keto safe and for how long?.


Hi, I have been here since June, formerly from SparkPeople.
Looks like this group is dormant. Maybe we will revive it.
I am a bit older than you and have been on Spark tracking since
2009. Lost over 60 pounds and have mostly maintained for over
11 years. I follow the Mediterranean diet quite happily.

Why are you choosing Keto? It seems to work well for some
at least in the short term. Not sure that it is easy or healthful
long-term.


II am also from Sparkpeople. Trying to loose about twenty-to-twnety-five pounds. It is taking me a while.


Is there anyone on this forum? Active in this group? The last convo I see is Dec.21. I am a 71 year old vegan (mostly) female, in OA, have lots of food allergies, and am seeking accountability partner(s) or other discussion?

Hi--I am new. I lost 25lbs on WW and had hit a road block. Looking for a friend(s) to share the rest of my journey. I have about 14 lbs left to go.


I'm here and new. I just joined today. I'm 62 and boy it's hard trying to lose at my age, but I'm a turtle and it's coming off slowly but surely. Lost 15 from Chemo and Radiation and surgeries, 25 lbs on WW, and trying to lose the last 14 here.


Hi. I just joined this group today. I've been on the program for a couple of weeks and I'm bouncing around a lot. I'm vegan, so I already eat a lot of fruits and veggies, but it's hard to cut down on bread, pasta, white rice (LOVE veggie sushi), and other simple carbs. Wine is the hardest. I've cut way down on that, and no more mixed drinks, but I'm exercising at least 30-60 minutes daily, and it doesn't seem to be helping. I'm 66 and desperate to lose at least a little before my niece's wedding in Hawaii in April. I have a consultation with a life coach and a trainer, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. So frustrated!

Do you have any suggestions? I'm exercising like crazy, and trying to avoid simple carbs (if it's white, it ain't right philosophy) but I'm not making progress.
