Hello, I am new to MyNetDiary and I am looking for support and accountability as well as real life struggles/victories.
Is there anyone here who can help?

Hi Kmsouza719, this team has been so quiet this year. But I'm checking in! How are you doing with your plan so far?
Best,

Welcome CrazyCat. I like your name. :-)
I've been on MND about 2 - 3 months. Today, I decided to reach out and join a team. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you better. Hopefully, then, I can give you better support.
I hope that some of you are interested in getting some "action" going with this team.

Hi Amy & CrazyCat! I like that nickname too, BTW.
How do you all handle long workdays where you are out of the house for 12 hours or more? Anyone have that challenge?

Hi Amy, Good on you for reaching out. :0) i am open to getting it going. Wonder if it would be better to start a new group? If you do let me know and i will join for sure. :0)

Dietitian, I work from home so i don't have to worry about that. However, i am always around my food so that doesn't make it any easier. lol But i do have some discipline so that makes it easier i guess. just keep myself busy. :0)

Kathy,
I am also home, when I'm not at the gym. I used to be away from the house, working concrete construction, and there were so many long days...12 hours or more.
What I found worked for me then was to not eat before very active periods during the day. I would eat during the least busy time of the day, so that I could at least take a little time with my food and enjoy it---not gulp it down.
I would bring warm supper left overs and keep them in a good, insulated thermos. It was quite nice to have the homemade food during the day. On days when I didn't have left overs available, I would bring a can of Healthy Choice soup, and warm it up, stick a hole in the top of it and stick it near the fire we would light.
I would also bring ziplock sandwich baggies with grapes in them....or bring an apple or orange to work.
I hope this helps.

Great ideas, Amy, thanks! I love insulated thermos containers. The one I have keeps my tea or hot cocoa hot for many hours. Perfect for my 6 hour trip, 2days/week.
Folks, be sure to read Amy's post!
