Journey to Health Topic


Hi everyone! I'm just joining today however I started 2weeks ago. I have about 35 ( realistic) pounds to lose or 45 pounds (dream goal) :). I've never had to do this before but due to ...well... Age and SSRIs, I've managed to gain. Any advise would be appriated. Been doing a lot of research bur there is too much info out there. Look forward to hearing your stories and any pointers you have.


anyone new for the year 2011?

I'm in need of some motivation to get slimmed down for 2011.


I'm new for 2011. Decided to finally do something about my extra pounds. I decided to start today instead of waiting until the 3rd.

Lets help each other lose the weight.
When you look at it - its all in your mind - the decision to eat something or not is yours alone. We (me especially) are always making excuses why we ate this or that, but mostly it is because we lack the discipline and just seek comfort foods to make us feel better for what ever reason. Does anyone agree?


ME ME...I'm new!! I'm looking for motivation as well. I'm looking to train for a 5k and also lose 30 pounds! So I really need to talk to others with like minds!!


I agree completely. I eat out of boredom. Late night snacking is my enemy. I find that if I go on sites like these and chat and read and answer questions I stay motivated. So I'm all for helping each other stay on track! Here's to a new year and a new us!!


Good Luck. You can do it if you really want too. Just think about how happy you will be after all the sacrifices.


Thanks!! I already do feel better about just making the committment!! Now to follow through! I'm headin out today to go and pick up Zumba fitness for the Kinnect. Promises to be a fun workout!! I want to have some fun doing this training as well.

I'm new to the site too. Looking to really understand my weight issues and get rid of these extra pounds. My biggest issue is also late night snacking, but then again with 4 kids in the house asking for food all the time and my husband who loves sweets, makes it difficult to stop eating. I'm working on the mental part of this and will make weight loss work for a change.
