Longhorns Vs My Kitchen Topic

Hi DonnasJourney1964- Yes, such a great point! When we cook at home we have control over the ingredients. Restaurants often add extra fat and sugar to enhance the flavor, which means more calories....
Just curious- What's in your longhorns salad? Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Not to mention the massive amount of salt added by restaurants to food.

Turkey breast.. bell peppers.. cucumbers.. sliced almonds.. tomatoes.. avocado.. romaine.. spinach .. and grated Parmesan.. with skinny girl balsamic.. it’s so good and no guilt

Donna'sJourney1964,
Sounds like a delicious and healthy summer salad!

That sounds really tasty and very healthy. I will have to give it a try! Thanks for sharing. Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I have to ask - Why Longhorns ?

I had a salad from Longhorns on Friday. They don't have any lite dressings so I just used part of one of the two dressing ramekins. I only ate part of the salad too, but I agree in my kitchen I can budget the calories much better!

Hi Jb_eats- Great way to save on calories when you have limited options.

I like Longhorns Salmon, broccoli, and rice meal. Only eat there for special occasions.

That sounds yummy and healthy! I love to have leftovers for another meal by cutting the restaurant meal in half and taking the other half home for the next day. Get to enjoy it twice! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
