Medical issues interfering with ability to exercise Topic

I gained back all the weight I lost and I'm clear overeating was a big factor. Another contributor is inactivity. I've had a string of health problems and minor surgeries that have kept me sedentary. And more coming up: knee surgery on July 3rd. Then major back surgery for spinal stenosis. It's hard when you can't walk or stand much.
Anyone else dealing with medical problems that interfere with exercise ?

I have some ongoing knee problems from an old ACL injury that was repaired -- but never got back to normal. That said, I think I'm very fortunate because I'm otherwise healthy.
Walking/hiking is a very good activity that I use to keep the heart rate up. Resistance training is also a major activity for me to keep my heart rate and (re)build muscle.
Have you thought about using resistanace training like resistance bands?

Have you tried using the resistance bands?
My wife used resistance bands a lot to maintain her muscle tone when she was on bedrest and couldn't stand or walk. I think resistance bands come in all sizes and elasticities and could probably help you if you are not able to walk or stand. Some look like big rubber bands, some look like a small rubber sheet, and some look like big rubber tubes with handles on the end.
Good luck!
