New to MND, Suggested Calories Seem Very High Topic

I'm checking out MDN as my current Cronometer is close to renewing and I'll tend to take that time to evaluate other options and see if I wish to stick with one or the other. The MDN UI is nice and seems to work pretty well. It also has a bit better advice/guidance than my current tool which is more focused on just numbers.

One thing I noticed is that the base maintenance calories seems quite high, 2,900, where my current tool has it listed at a BMR of 1,975 (Mifflin St. Jeor). It could be this is more accurate and the lower numbers could lead to under-eating. I was just curious as to why they seem so different. It seems plenty of people have had success with this tool, so I was curious. It does seem the 2900 lines up with a TDEE calculator with Moderate activity, even though I have mine set to sedentary as I track through an Apple Watch.

BMR is the number of calories your body requires at rest. This is generally at least a few hundred calories less than weight maintenance calories.
