Binge eating ramps up this time of year. And yet it is a complex eating disorder that requires patience and attention. It is not something that is solved by increasing your willpower or starting on a strict diet.

If things are getting worse please consider reaching out to the National eating disorder helpline at 1-800-931-2237.

I also binge eat and idk how to stop

Hello Giselle0918-
I am sorry to hear you are struggling.
It sounds like you are going through a difficult time with binge eating.

I would suggest calling or texting the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) 24-hour helpline at: 1-800-931-2237. They understand and can help.

We at MyNetDiary take health and eating habits very seriously and ask that anyone who is currently struggling with disordered eating of any type, such as binge eating, stop using the app and get help immediately. The MyNetDiary terms of use state, “If you currently have or have had anorexia nervosa, bulimia, or other related eating disorders, you are not permitted to use this Site and the Mobile Apps." This statement exists to protect you. Our overriding concern is your safety. Here are our terms of use for your review: https://www.mynetdiary.com/terms.html

Finally, while tracking food & exercise can be valuable for users wanting to improve their health, it can reinforce unhealthy behaviors for those with or at risk for eating disorders. We suggest you stop counting calories, delete the app, and get professional help. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists

No food's off limits, treats are fine to. When forbidding a certain food, going to eat anyway and likely more than wanted.

Log everything, see how it affects macro's / calorie budget,.how you feel. Enjoy all foodsies! :)

For me, drinking alcohol always leads to some binge eating. Some practical advice would be avoid binge eating opportunities(buffets, parties, eat while watching tv). Another option is allow binge eating once a week, then lower to once a month. Use it as a reward for good behavior. good luck, we’ve all been there..

I avoid excitotoxins (read book by Dr Blaylock). When I eat foods with excitotoxins I eat past to point of being full. It's disgusting. By taking 25mg of Zoloft (the lowest dose avail) and avoiding excitotoxin laden foods I am able to avoid binging. I was binge-purge in my 20s and early 30s. If you eat at Chick-Fila, Red Robin, KFC -- those places have insane amounts of excitoxins in their foods. McDonalds does a good job of avoiding them. Not saying fast food is good for you, just saying choose your cheats wisely bc some are damage control and others are damage magnifying.

I just found out some people refer to avoiding excitotoxins as a "Low Glutamate Diet"

Start weighing yourself and use that for motivation to lose weight. Also every time you eat drink a water bottle first. Lastly sub the foods you are eating with low cal foods. My vice was cookies so now I eat dates and apples to curb my sugar cravings. I also eat more turkey and salads and that helped me stop binging.

The way i stopped eating junk food a lot, was simply not buying it or hiding it. Trust me, eventually… the cravings go away once you stop feeding your body those sugary and crapy greasy foods:)
