Hi - just logged back in, I'll be training for a half-marathon in October


Hi. I am new here too. I have been running for a couple of years and just did a half. I have a hard time losing weight when I am training and I want to lose 20 lbs. Any support is appreciated along the way.


I'm new here! Is anyone still here? I just finished Route 66 Marathon in Tulsa and will begin training for OKC Memorial in January. I am currently 45 lbs over my goal weight and would like to carefully and safely lose weight while training for marathons. I comfortably run a 12 min mile, but would like to eventually comfortably run my 5K race pace of a 10 min mile (which is NOT confortable!)during my long runs. I figure the more I lose, the faster I be!


Hi I'm new here and new to running as well . I ran my first 5k 8/20/2012 and hoping to keep myself motivated and moving . Anyone else still active here?


I'm new to the forums, I've been using this app,forever and didn't even know there was a community. Congrats on the first 5k! I finished the Ease into 5k app about 4-5 weeks ago and now doing the Bridge to 10k app.


I started using the app about 3 months ago and started running again. I haven't seen much activity in this group. I'm not familiar with the running apps you mentioned. I've just been slowly increasing the lengths of my runs. Do you like the apps?

I'm new to the group and was wondering if this group was active, too.


I'm not a very good runner, but have been trying to become better. I've got a 5K coming up on St. Patty's day... and a half marathon coming up in less than 2 months.


Does anyone have any recommendations for a book or videos on proper running technique? I'm having fun getting more active, but sometimes I feel like I use more energy bouncing up and down than I do in moving in a forward direction! :)


I'll take from the underwhelming lack of responses that the answer to "is the group active" is no.

I'll be active for this group because I am trying to get ready for a marathon at 8:53. I run half marathon and it will be interesting trying now and repairman marathon. But it must be done, and it will help my knees! I asked the dietitian for help and she pointed me out a book and so I ordered it. If there are any interesting tips in the book I will be sure to share them
