Journey to Health Topic


I'm new to the site too. Looking to really understand my weight issues and get rid of these extra pounds. My biggest issue is also late night snacking, but then again with 4 kids in the house asking for food all the time and my husband who loves sweets, makes it difficult to stop eating. I'm working on the mental part of this and will make weight loss work for a change.


I'm new to this site too. Started a few months ago, got off track during the holidays, and am restarting now. My problem is constant excuses. I'm my worst enemy when trying to eat right. I'm trying not to blame everyone else. "I can't lose weight because ______ makes me eat too much. or so-and-so cooks everything with butter, etc."

My hardest problem right now is recording proper calorie counts for homecooked meals when I'm not the cook. Any suggestions?


Hi Karen--I've asked for the recipe of a particular dish if I couldn't find anything comparable in the database and entered it into MND for the nutrition info. Hope it's going well with you!

Hi Salty. I just started today and hoping this might help me stay accountable. I need to lose at least 15kg so I am setting that as my goal. Know I won't excercise as much as I should but at least getting the food under control is a start. good luck with it.


Hi Everyone, Just joined yesterday. Not sure if I should start a new thread or if it's okay just to post that I'm new in this thread. Looking for encouragment. I'm really liking how easy it is to enter food items and keep track of them. My Dr suggested I drop down to my High School weight. Not sure if I can do that. But my 1st goal is to drop 20 lbs in 10 weeks. And then set a new goal.

Hi AliciaSaltillo - I just joined this group today too. I lost 35 pounds this spring, but have been at a stand-still for a while, and lately I've noticed the weight is starting to creep back up, and that's not ok with me! I joined this group as a means to gain support from others. Good luck to you!


I am finding a lot of good ideas for fast healthy meals in Clean Eating magazine.


Oh thank you for the tip. Having fast, convenient meals is a must. Especially if they are Instant Pot type meals :-)
