Hi All. Last year was a successful year and I lost 88lbs out of a target 91lbs. This year has been a slow start with me initially going in the wrong direction. This has recently picked up momentum and I am again moving in a positive direction. I am looking to share any best practices of what works. At present I am calorie counting with a daily 1 hour walk, 3 times a week. Interested to know your stories and successes

I started My Net Diary at the end of October. Started off great. Lost 37 lbs by the end of December. Just before new years, I slipped on some ice and busted my left knee. Since my knee surgery 7 weeks ago, my exercise program has been cut way back, no stair machine, elliptical trainer or long walks with the dog. But I've still managed to drop 20 pounds post surgery.
I'm looking to maintain my weight loss and get to 170 to 175. 52 down and 37 to go.

Dan170,

Its great to see that you still maintained the loss even though you were incapacited. How did you do it?

Since I was sitting around on my butt, I dropped my intake down to around 1200 kcal/day. I'm finding that some of my weight loss post surgery has been atrophied muscles in my leg. My quads in the left leg are like jelly.
Right now my only aerobic exercise is limited to 1 leg stationary cycling and an upper body ergometer that I fashioned out of a recumbent bike trainer. It's tough to get the heart rate up to an aerobic burn range but I'm finally managing to get it up and keep it there for an hour or so.

Your success thus far is impressive.

Wow, I am impressed that you could keep that up. My greatest fear latly is getting hurt so I couldn't work out. Last night i went for a high round kick to my partner and sliped and busted my but and have hurt my back! I thik it will be fine, but just say way to go with sticking with it. I started with 73 pounds as my goal and have 40 to go. I am at a plateau and can't seem to jump off. I am trying to count everything that goes into my mouth, cause i tend to be bad on the weekeneds.

I just started net diary again for the second time. I really really want to stick with it this time!!! It is such a great program!!! I just need to stay motivated!!! Hope I can keep up with this.

I just started on 6/22/09. I have a little over 40 Lbs to lose and my goal is to try to lose about 1 lb per week. I am hypothyroid so I don't lose weight quickly. Most of all, I'd like to enjoy the process this time ( I've lost the same 40 lbs 3 times...ha ha!) I'd like to make some new friends and grow as a person. This looks like a great site altho I notice no one has posted here since April. Hopefully we can get things up and running again!!

Wow it's been awhile. My membership finished and I felt that I would be okay now, but no. The focus was ni longer there. I went from 308lbs in March 08 to 219 in Jan 09 then back to 249 now.

I am restarting today with the focus that I will 205 lbs by Nov 09.

I look forward to hearing your goals %26 personal challenges for this year

Regards. Paul

Hello all!

This is day one for me at MyNetDiary. My hope is that keeping track of what I eat will help me shed the 25lb. I've gained over the last 7 years. That's about when I hurt my back and stopped running. I apparently haven't compensated by reducing what I eat, so hopefully this will bluntly show me where I need to adjust.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for responding...okay I know this sounds idiotic but what is this %26 challenge that everyone is talking about? I have skimmed the website but I must have missed something!! Good luck to you...I'm sure you'll lose the weight again..if you could lose that much in the first place you can do it again!! I haven't even started yet!!!
