What are your biggest challenges from being 50+ ? Topic

I'm just curious what others here think their biggest issues/problems/challenges are related to being 50 and over.
I certainly feel a little more "creaky" than I did when I was twenty-something, but doing okay overall. I think I've slowed down just a bit and I'm working to build up my stamina. I play ice hockey and like to ride my bike when I can, both of which are great for keeping me going. Getting my weight down some will (I think) help me with my stamina some.

My biggest problem was slowing metabolism. I can still get out and run and dance and exercise, but I wasn't able to drop any pounds!! This site has been great, plus I started taking B12 and that seemed to kick start my metabolism.

B12 eh? Sounds interesting - I'm open to anything that might increase mine a bit as well. Let me qualify that - I'm not open to just ANYTHING, but something natural would be of interest. :-)

I agree, my metabolism used to be great, but lateley it's just been really hard to get motivated. Any ideas. The B12 thing sounds interesting. I might give that a try. Good luck all. I just joined today and am hoping to get on track.

Hello... I've just joined as well. Seems we are all in the same boat. I used to keep trim with lots of sports, but now I just hurt more and still gain weight. hehe
I'm keen to keep better track and adjust my life for good. What is the evidence for B12 ?

Well, I just know it worked for me.

This is one page that talks about it. I was taking 1000 mg of bilingual (under the tongue). I started taking it in October and lost a pound a week between October and March and have been maintaining for about 3 months.

My biggest problem has been my health. I had always been thin my whole life. I have R.A. and F.M. Which is unfair because I have followed a healthy life style. For the last 6 years it has been hard for me to exercise because I am in pain all the time. I have become depressed because of having to deal with pain day in and day out. We own a small business that I built from the ground up before meeting my husband of 18 years, and I can no longer work in it.
I am married to the greatest man in the world. He is very supportive, and treats me like a princess.
I feel like if I can loose some of this weight (154.2) that maybe I can somehow feel like trying again maybe start taking my meds like I should.

The greatest challenge is energy level and aches and pains . I feel much better when I pay attention and eat several small well planned meals over the day but an not that organized . Love my diet soda but am working on cutting back. Trying to remain positive when life is changing physically or emotionally. Wondering just how old do I look to the students I work with. Feeling young inside but the body does not work the same way.

I feel like it is a merry-go-round. I don't have any energy so I don't want to go exercise but if I exercised maybe I would have some energy! Getting older has been great so far but would love to be able to get up a mountain hike without stopping! I am new to this plan but like it already. Any advice would be appreciated.
