Hi. My husband and I are using kettle bells and we love the workout; intense but not too complicated or hard to do; it's fun with a buddy. I bought the Ryan Shananhan KettleWorx DVDs and they are great. I've lost 35 lbs; and I'm now maintaining my weight. I don't eat flour and sugar and I have three meals a day; 6oz of vegetables and 4 oz of protein for dinner with a big salad and two teaspoons of dressing. Really tates great and keeps me full. I'd love to share my breakfast and lunch menu as well. Anyone else use kettle bells?

Hello all. I am just getting started here after getting back from a Disney vacation. Though (very) overweight, I thought I was in relatively good shape. After a week of walking and standing for 12+ hours a day interspersed with some swimming, I am sore in places I never knew I had!
Since I turned 40, parts seems to be breaking down all over for no apparent reason. I never believed it, but it's true! I've joined a local gym and will be working out 3x per week. Hopefully that will help.
BTW, I am an emergency services shift worker working 12-hour rotating shifts, making food plans challenging (particularly when when we tend to eat our way through night shifts!). Does anyone out there have any tips or tricks for shift workers?
Thanks for listening!

Hello all, I am 40 and a Nurse. I am married and my husband and I have been together for 23 years. Weighed 105 lbs when we met. I have an 18 year old daughter who began college this fall. I began LVN school when she was 5 months old. Great way to put on weight! Graduated in a year and went straight to work. Weighed about 150 lbs then. Then, in 2001 I decided to go back to school to get my RN. Another great way to gain weight! Graduated as a RN in 2003 and have weighed about 180-190 since. I weigh 40 lbs more now than I did 9 months pregnant! Self esteem is horrible. Need clothes but absolutely hate shopping for them. Did LA Weight Loss for a year and was working pretty well. Then my dad died and I stopped going. Gained the weight back. Don't have a great support system at home as far as eating healthy. Also, usually miss breakfast, work thru lunch while eating on the go and eat a late supper, then lay down for the evening. I KNOW! Horrible habits. Am hoping to change them. Doesn't seem to matter how many calories I put in 500 or 3000, I stay the same weight. Think my metabolism is gone! Stay tired and worn out most of the time. HELP!!! I need to see things happening to stay motivated!

Hi my name is sheila and after reading some of the posts i feel like i can really fit in with this group. I am 45 years old, have been married 27 years and have one daughter that is getting ready to turn 18. I have struggled with my weight for years, i lose, i gain, i lose, i gain. i love to exercise, i run, and do firm videos and just recently added biking to the equation. i have found that as long as i can exercise i can stay focused on my healthy eating, but sometimes life throws me a curve ball. a death in the family or an injury and i find myself reaching for ice cream and margarita's to get that feel good feeling i get from exercise. sorry to go on and on. hope i can join this group and make some friends that have the same goals and issues that i have

I do agree - chocolate and crisps are my downfall - as long as i can keep track of my calories i can have them .. this is my first week, feeling good and positive i can do this ..

Hi all,
I've registered here last Sunday, hoping I'll be able to stick to plan. I will turn 40 next month so I figured this is the group I should join. I am divorced and I have 3 kids I raise entirely on my own, no support from their father or my family at all. I have been using food to reward myself, give me company, de-stress, control anxiety... I know, it's really bad. One month ago I have quit smoking which cause me to eat even more. I guess I am in real trouble, please wish me luck
