This team is a little quiet. How is everyone doing?

Holding my own through Thanksgiving and the start of holiday festivities. Still not back where I want to be yet, but hanging in there and not gaining (actually down, just a little). Need to be more consistent about logging and exercising. Happy Holidays everyone!

Good to hear it. We have talked about Maintain Don't Gain before - it is a great strategy for every holiday season. And happy holidays to you too!
Best,
Kathy

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas, everyone!

Kathy

How's it going everyone? Our team is quiet...

Held my own through the holidays. Have not been logging consistently though. Hopping back on this week to get back at it. I had a really nasty cold from just before New Year's Day and still getting over the dregs of it so haven't really been able to exercise. I feel like I am coming out of a fog now but motivated to get back to some of my better habits. Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome back! Hope you are well now. It is so hard to deal with a nasty cold/flu!
Best,
Kathy

How's it going, folks? I know this team gets pretty quiet. Are you all happy to have daylight during the evenings again! Hurray!
Best,
Kathy

Doing good. Started on 50th birthday in April 2010 at 114 kg. Now around 80 kg. Weight goes up and down by about 2 kg each month. BP down to a stable 115/65 and heart rate at 50. Ran 12 marathons and 3 ultras in 2012 and so far one marathon and one ultra in 2013. Even came in 3rd place in my age group in the marathon this year. Best part is many new friends made at events.

Tried going off MND for a couple of weeks, but complete failure. My judgment is just not good enough to determine actual calories I am eating. So back on again as loyal lifetime user (please don't go BK).

Most recent doctor visit a dream - doc told me not to come back for 5 years. Too healthy!!

Lately I have been trying to adapt to less process food and reducing meat and dairy. Switched to almond milk, fresh fruits, and veg for breakfast and lunch. Try to buy only good breads like Dave's Killer Bread and avoid refined grains. Discovered bulgur as a great breakfast cereal that i can sweeten as desired (frequently use pure maple syrup and honey in moderation). Gave up white rice for genmai. Still have biz dinners and occasionally enjoy real burger. Also drink in moderation, particularly wine.

Overall, quality of life has improved so much I can't even image going back to being obese.

Anyway, that's my story.

Wow - holy smokes, Yamanote - you are doing so well!!! Yeah, I gain weight over time when I don't track. Tracking keeps me focused and accountable.

Great to hear from you and I am glad that this is your "new normal" - your habit is now healthy.

Best,
Kathy
