The good news--great cholesterol numbers and blood pressure on a follow up visit with my doctor! So even though I have a few lbs to work off to get back to goal, I am far lighter than I was and the healthy lifestyle changes I have made since starting MND (three years ago) have made a huge difference in health, and in how I feel.

Hi DespicableMe - Welcome to the team! We are all in weight maintenance mode. You can share your data by changing your Information Sharing settings in your Community Profile on the web.
Congrats on your weight loss! That looks like an average of 2.4 lbs/week. A little high for a weekly average (1-2 lbs/week avg for diet/lifestyle focused weight loss) , but if your food intake is well balanced and you are meeting your RDA/DRIs for vitamins and minerals, then there is less risk with a higher rate of weight loss.
Best,

Just back from a week in France. I have been having a harder time logging even before vacation, and also a harder time sticking to my exercise for about a month or so. September/October was just an incredibly hectic time for me. Looking out over this next month, and especially leading up to the holidays, I recognize the need to get back into my more structured lifestyle where eating right and exercise are back in their proper priority. Still having a hard time getting that scale to budge off where I have been for the past couple of months. Sigh....

I use so many tools some for me work better at certain times than others. One is when faced with food choices I try to remember why maintaining is important to me Also if really tempted I try to look at two points in time. One eating it and one 4 hours after and taking the same senerio but not eating it.Which place will be the best at the distant point. Just some of my tools.Might not work for everyone.
How close are you to goal at this point?
Oh so wonderful France! Happy you enjoyed yourself. Eating there takes time to savor. Portions are more controlled with obesity low. Nothing should be off the table with portion control in place.Glad to here from you.Best of luck getting back in more control-Fran

Hi Clochette2 - I think you hit the nail on the head - change in routine and schedule can make weight maintenance a challenge. Can you figure out creative ways to get your exercise time in? I sometimes even hit the stairs at home to get the calories burned. Hard, I know.
This is also the gauntlet...the next 8 weeks. Write out strategies for handling dining out?
Tricks to help appetite control - I have been using the 100 kcal protein drinks (Light Muscle Milk, Pure Protein Shake, EAS CarbAdvantage Edge). More protein at breakfast. Watching alcohol calories.
And I agree with Fran re ideas in post.
Hang in there!

Consider the French Paradox especially since you might be still in the French mind set-lol

Yes, lots of good things about France and French eating. Definitely got in quite a bit of walking every day I was there. Plates, portions and wineglasses are all smaller. No eating between meals. No Halloween candy lying about. But I generally eat more raw veggies and fruits at home than I did there, eat less meat and drink less wine.
I am about seven lbs off goal right now. I know I can get back to where I want to be. Thanks for all the tips and encouragement.
