Welcome, MochaRhonda! Glad to have you on the team.
My simplest and most direct tip - never give up. Tracking is working to help you lose weight, so keep doing it to maintain your weight. Be a problem solver.
Our group members have lots of great tips and advice to share...

I think you have to keep tracking.....forever I am afraid. All the professional reading I have done the last year points to the fact that those of us who have lost a lot of body weight (myself 40 kg) are almost pre-determined to gain it back. Not in my lifetime! That is why this tool is so essential - to ensure no return to the old ways and manage my lower calorie requirements using some custom settings.
Quote of the week: "There is an inflexible law of physics — energy taken in must exactly equal the number of calories leaving the system when fat storage is unchanged. "

Tracking is the key ...accountability
Has always contributed to my success over the years...that's why we need sites like MND. Forum is wonderful for the exchange of ideas and to help each other!

I agree on both counts, Susan! I am so much more accountable and mindful when I track. And I like saying "Hi" to you all! :) Kathy

This has been such a hot summer! Drinking more fluids for sure...but did you know that hot fluids can help spur a sweating response via our tongue receptors? No joke - it was on NPR this week.

I heard or read somewhere last week that water with ice helps burn a few extra calories. Apparently body responds to the coldness of the ice and this uses energy (calories). So drink lots of ice water!

Back to tracking after being away for three weeks, part of which was vacation and part work. Weigh-in on Friday revealed that I stayed exactly the same weight which I am going to take as a "win" even though I am still tending to bounce around a bit and mostly a few lbs. above where I want to be. Key was being mindful, and sticking to some daily exercise the entire time I was away even though I wasn't tracking closely. Hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying lots of the healthy fresh fruits and veggies that are so great right now!

Hi Clochette2, great news! Happy that vacation/work trip still resulted in weight neutral.
If don't track but I am on vacation and active, I too can maintain. Otherwise, if I don't track I am pretty much guaranteed weight gain over time. Kathy

Went to the doctor this week for a physical exam and my weight was a little lower on his scale. However, my blood pressure was higher than usual (not scary high but not normal for me). I think that it might be due to some recent medication changes. I am going to start tracking my blood pressure and was wondering if anyone has advice on what device is best to use at home. Also, should I try measuring it at different times on day to see whether it spikes after I take the medication, or is it just best to do it in the am just after waking up?
