New to group Topic


Hi, I'm Valerie. Looks like I'm the first post in a year! Looking for a community of people who understand the struggle to reset decades of poor eating choices. The pandemic was a gift for me: I was afraid of eating food prepared by outsiders, so I cooked everything myself. Since I was cooking, I made healthier meals. Then, since I was cooped up in the house, I decided I had to take a walk everyday just to get some fresh air. All that said, I've lost more than 30 pounds since last March with another 50 to go. Recently, I've also been working on taking action from a position of love rather than hate, i.e., wanting to feed by body good food to thank it for housing my soul rather than because I hate looking like a beluga whale (lol!).


I have just upgraded this app and I'm hoping to find some friends and motivation.


Hi, I'm Karen. I worked out the other day that I have gained 1kg per year for the last 37 yrs, so back into gear for me. I missed the boat losing weight for my daughters wedding last month but I am really focused now on getting weight off for my health. I have a bad back and struggle to pick up my 2 yr old granddaughter and that needs to change. My physio has told me that weight loss will make a big difference as will strengthening my abs. So here I go again...


Looks like an inactive group so maybe we can fire it back up :-)


The problem with the community part of the app is that there are no notifications if someone responds to your question or posts to one of your groups. I would love to see it become a more active forum. It is the only thing I don't like about My Net Diary. Everything else is so much better than another one I used for nearly 10 years.


Is there any way to do calendar challenges here, either as a group or individually? Or maybe streak monitoring, etc? I'm new from Spark and I could use something simple like "Log in for 30 days".

I have a challenge to anyone reading this: Post in one topic and three meaningful replies in the forum this week.

The more active this forum is, the more reason we have to open up MND daily...and that will help us stay with it!


That would be a good idea, I guess we could do it on the message board. Or find each other on garmin connect (or some such) - does this count as a post ;->

Getting older has made it so much harder to lose weight!
