Hi, it's Halloween night and I haven't eaten any of the candy!! It's a true achievement for me. I am trying to lose 15 pounds. I hope we can help each other get through the holidays without getting offtrack. Think positive everyone!! Eating healthy is the best thing we can do for ourselves and our families!!

I joined today too, bought the iPhone app. I gained 20 lbs. in one year and can't believe I did that. I'd like to lose the 20 again, once and for all.

At work they have a Maintain Don't Gain promotion over the holidays. I joined today, I hope that will help me stay focused through the first of the year!!

Started on this site this week. Packing lunches takes more time than I expected, but I've learned to get that done the evening before. Joined the Y, got a fitness trainer and am looking forward to recovery from all thos fatness symptons. I'm in BC, Canada

Hello everyone! Well, I started being serious with counting my calories f4rom 30th Nov '10. It's been 3 weeks now and I am beginning to see results! It is really challenging as I LOVE food. But what I have done is, I have got my 3 daughters to do it with me. This only means..... I am not Alone. I made a promise to myself that I am going to do this till my Goal is reached. So if anyone out there would wanna be my buddy/buddies, it will be Great!

Have worked on getting in shape for years, but since my father passed this Thanksgiving for some reason I am more dedicated. Maybe it is because he was sooooo healthy except for the brain tumors, that he was able to stay with us longer. Anyway, I am setting milestones that will change as a reach the them on the way to my ultimate goal.

Hi - I'm Brownmonkey, new to this group and fairly new to MND. I'm 53 and 214 pounds. I've had success the past few weeks with using the food diary - and, of course, every other trick I could find! I'm looking forward to learning some tricks from this group.

You are teaching your daughters well...food is a wonderful thing but it's part of life not the whole! And, we cannot do big things alone!

Hi, I'm new to the group. I've been doing My Net diary since 9-20-2011 and have dropped 5 lbs. I'm working with a personal trainer twice a week. But, due to carrying too much weight for too long and and an injury at end of May, my activity level is light on average. I am 52 years old.

I have had a Roux-En-Y Gastic bypass back in February 2002 and lost 120 pounds. Unfortunately I found over 60 of those pounds. For anyone considering the procedure, it is only a tool and you must change your lifestyle forever. I am living proof, that humans can screw up the results of the surgery.

I am 5' 2" short and started at 346 lbs. I have serious arthritis in most of my joints (especially my knees) and wear a leg brace for my right knee. I tore my right rotator cuff at the end of May 2011, but wasn't diagnosed until August. First ortho surgeon doesn't feel surgery is an option, but I have an appointment for a 2nd opinion this coming Friday.

I hate exercising, but know it's the only way I can lose & maintain any weight loss.

Just logging into this group and wanted to introduce myself.

It's nice that there is a group of over 50 folks.

Thanks for the intro, LisaLouBe!

If I can give you one piece of friendly advice... don't rush into a decision to have knee surgery. I've had it and it doesn't always go the way you hope. It's ok now but I still have to wear a brace and it gives me trouble at times.

I'm new as well and am on a program to get fit and lose weight so I can rock the Rockies next summer. I love backpacking and doing it with my kids so I have to get back into shape so I can keep up with them.
