What's New in the News from Dietitian Topic

This promise was almost a year ago. Surely it's a trivial thing in your software to multiply all the kcal by 4.18!! I spend half my time doing this manually (on Android) or rather than opposite (dividing by 4.18 for kJ to kcal) so the app just isn't good enough yet!

Lisath: Can you clarify what the discussion is about? I suspect you are concerned that a calorie calculation is being rounded inappropriately for either protein or carbs. In fact, 4 calories/gram is the international standard for these calculations. Can you give me a bit of background, as I'm covering for Kathy today.
Donna P. Feldman MS RD

Hi Lisath, I asked Support about KJ vs Kcal and they said that it is not trivial to rework all the screens and calculations for web and all apps. They only have one area where you can see KJ displays - and that is on the food label screen.

I'm sorry that we still don't have full metric functionality - I know it is frustrating for so many of you who use metric as your standard. I know Support is aware that this is functionality that is desired and often requested.

Thank you for your feedback.

Best,
Kathy Isacks, MPS, RD, CDE
